LCSW CADC Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor

Life gives us challenges. No way around it. Sometimes help is needed to work through these challenges. Talking about the problem helps, hiding from the problem can make things worse.

My name is Vincent Dhan. I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) and certified alcohol and drug counselor (CADC). I specialize in mental health, addictions, and co-occurring disorders. I work with adults of all genders and orientations.

My mission is to provide individuals, couples, and groups with high quality therapy rooted in evidence based practice, always client centered and trauma informed. I practice from elements of CBT, DBT, and ACT. My approach to therapy is unique to each and every client, as each person has a different lived experience that must be accounted for and tailored to fit. I do not believe in a one size fits all approach to therapy. As a clinician, I help treat the root cause that is causing problems in people's lives. The objective is always to put out the fire, not just fan the smoke.

These human problems do not have to be faced alone. Mental health, addictions, and co-occurring disorders are human problems that everyone deals with in their lives, and should not be stigmatized. Suffering alone is painful and makes it difficult to function in the world and be authentic. My hope for each of my clients is that they become more sincere to their own values and beliefs. I help each of my clients to not only talk through issues, but to develop practical, real life skills to better manage their emotions from day to day.

What can I expect during my first session?

Your first session is focused on getting to know you, your history, current concerns, and goals for therapy. There is no pressure to share everything at once. It is a collaborative conversation, and you will leave with a clearer sense of how we will work together going forward.

Do you offer both individual and couples therapy?

Yes. We work with individual adults navigating mental health, addiction, or co occurring concerns, as well as couples looking to strengthen communication, rebuild trust, or work through conflict together.

Are virtual sessions available, or only in person?

Both. Sessions are offered in person and virtually, so you can choose whichever fits your schedule and comfort level, including switching formats week to week if needed.

What areas do you serve?

In person sessions are available for clients in and around Aurora, Batavia, Elgin, and Wheaton, Illinois. Virtual sessions are available to clients located anywhere in Illinois.

How long does each session last?

Individual sessions typically run 45 to 50 minutes, and couples sessions run 55 to 60 minutes. Session length and frequency can be adjusted based on your needs.
